English Heritage Statement on Hurst Castle

EH have issued a statement on their web site concerning the collapse of part of the castle and the work currently being carried out.

https://www.english-heritage.org.uk/.../protecting-hurst...

EH state that “Our team are now hard at work on a major project to protect and bring stability to the castle.” and “English Heritage is committed to Hurst Castle but there can be no quick fix, and these works will take many months to complete.”

This is not a repair of course.  The works described are to “protect the damaged section of the castle and make it safe.”

Some people have suggested that there is practically no chance that the collapsed section could be reinstated.  We look forward to getting the EH view on that.
