PFS YouTube Video Channel, click here ->

Our YouTube channel serves two complementary purposes: it is both a public showcase for the subject that we are interested in and also a growing digital archive for the future. In 2025 , the channel had over 10,000 views and it now hosts more than 150 videos. For many viewers, the channel acts as an accessible introduction to the forts: a way to explore sites, artefacts and research remotely, at their own convenience. For us, however, it is also part of a longer-term preservation strategy. By systematically capturing and curating video content, we are building a visual record that will remain available to researchers and enthusiasts in years to come.

We are particularly keen to expand the archive with historical footage. If you have old film or video recordings of the forts - in any format, from cine film to camcorder tapes or early digital recordings - we would be very interested to hear from you. The material does not need to be formal or scholarly; informal visits, events, or even light-hearted moments all contribute to the historical record. If you believe you may have relevant footage, please contact us at enquiries@palmerstonfortssociety.org.uk and let us know what you have.
