13/10/2018 - PFS Annual General Meeting
The PFS 2018 Annual General Meeting will be held on the 13th October 2018 at Fort Nelson, commencing at 1400hrs. All PFS members are welcome to attend.

The development of Fort Gilkicker to create 26 exclusive beach-side homes has come to a halt, yet again. According to the Portsmouth News Fort Gilkicker is back on the market after the investors pull out. Developer Andrew Temperton said "...the investors from Malaysia see it as a very small scheme and don't want the hassle anymore, so are moving on to other projects. Personally I am very disappointed... My main frustrations are with problems we had with Historic England and that I'm not able to see the project through to the end."

Following on from the PFS evening meeting in June when a talk was given on the Pompey Pals Project (see newsletter No. 148) the Project will be holding a Service of Remembrance in Guildhall Square, Portsmouth, on Saturday September 8th, starting at 10.00am through to 2.00pm. The Service will start at approximately 10.45am.


In attendance will be the Military Wives Choir, the Royal Navy Volunteer Band and a number of local Service Associations raising awareness of our veterans today. Also, Ubique and the 18-pdr from Fort Nelson will be there. All PFS members are welcome.
